Literally...This wreck is on a dirt road near Cortez, Nevada. I found it when I was trying to find a short cut from The Cortez Hills Gold Mine to Eureka. I ended up near Austin, Nevada and had to double back on US Route 50.
Before I reached 50 it was all dirt road meandering over alkali flats, through mountain passes and near to farms. I would like to go out and explore that area sometime when I have more time.
I suppose, in the end, the "short cut" was as long as the normal way.
It was certainly more interesting than driving on Interstate 80 and Nevada 278.
